Dog Training, Behavioral and Obedience Programs in Ellenton

Group Dog Training Classes

Interested in having your dog participate in group classes in Sarasota? The Dog Wizard offers group courses covering essential topics, from basic obedience to house training. Alongside new learning, your pet gets to meet and mingle with other dogs. Our Sarasota programs include puppy lessons for dogs under five months and small group foundation courses, typically hosting five to seven dogs.

Private Dog Training Lessons

If your dog benefits from more individualized coaching, The Dog Wizard in Sarasota offers custom private sessions. First, our trainers closely observe your dog to understand its habits. Next, we establish a training plan made just for them. These private lessons are available at your home or at our Sarasota facility—whichever setting feels best for your dog and you.

American Kennel Club (AKC) Training

The Dog Wizard is proud to announce that our Sarasota puppy program qualifies as an AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy program. Once your dog has completed training, it’s eligible to attempt the AKC S.T.A.R. test for certification. You and your puppy will then be registered in official AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy records and awarded a commemorative medal.

Lifetime Support

Acquiring new skills is important for your dog, but maintaining them over time matters even more. With The Dog Wizard’s lifetime support in Sarasota, our programs offer you ongoing access to weekly group sessions after graduation. These meetups help reinforce training, provide socialization for you and your dog in Sarasota, and strengthen the special bond between pet and owner.

Dog Day Training

Carving out time in your schedule for dog training isn’t easy. If you’re often busy during the day, The Dog Wizard’s Day Training program in Sarasota could be ideal. Your dog works with a dedicated trainer over the course of the day for behavioral improvement. You also get tailored private lessons in the comfort of your own home. Our options include a 6- or 15-day program. Let your trainer help you decide, based on the main goals you’d like to achieve for your dog.

Dog Separation Anxiety Training

Managing separation anxiety proves challenging and occasionally exasperating. Yet dogs can conquer it and gain assurance. Rooted in fear, solutions target the core unease. Comfort with solitude enables true change. The Dog Wizard's program boosts self-reliance, fortifies bonds, and equips pets to handle daily pressures effectively.

Dog Socialization Training

Mastering puppy socialization takes effort, but The Dog Wizard provides expert direction! Ready for key strategies? Introduce puppies early, from 3 to 12 weeks, to varied settings, strangers, animals, parks, and daycare under supervision. Keep sessions upbeat and low-stress. Stay composed, reward good encounters generously. Patience and steadiness drive results.

Adopted/Rescue Dog Training Program

Adopting from shelters or rescues often means unknown backgrounds for your new dog. Patience, time, and structured training resolve emerging issues and build family familiarity. Dogs thrive with routine, so beginning obedience classes promptly proves wise. The Dog Wizard tailors support for smooth integration.

Resource Guarding Training

Growling, snapping, or biting over items signals a need for professional help, especially in homes with children who miss cues. The Dog Wizard addresses these instincts safely.

Problem Solving: barking, chewing, jumping, begging, counter surfing, digging, leash pulling, play biting, marking, door bolting, housebreaking

Positive reinforcement shapes desirable dog conduct effectively. Owners reward good actions to encourage repetition. This technique reliably resolves common behavioral challenges.
