– Brad and Sherri Kelley Bring Revered Dog Training Service to ‘The Big Friendly’ –
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla., (October 19, 2021) – Brad and Sherri Kelley, two Oklahoma City transplants who fell in love at first sight with the area and its people, have now firmly planted their roots in their favorite city with the opening of The Dog Wizard Oklahoma City. The new franchise location of the highly-regarded nationwide dog training company will offer puppy training, group classes, private lessons, board and trains, and more, helping local dog owners connect with their four-legged family members and foster stronger relationships.
“We’re beyond thrilled to bring The Dog Wizard to the wonderful people of Oklahoma City, and eager to help dog owners of the region enjoy the company of their dogs no matter where they go,” said Brad Kelley. “The warm hospitality we’ve already received from the people of OKC has been overwhelming. Being a southern boy myself, born and raised in the panhandle of Texas, I appreciate the old-fashioned charm that radiates here. It was easy to feel welcomed and at home from the very first day.”
Brad and Sherri bring years of successful entrepreneurial experience to The Dog Wizard, owning and operating nine different new companies and branch locations throughout their careers, including two real estate brokerages. Their new facility for The Dog Wizard was extensively renovated, leveraging Sherri’s real estate and home design expertise. Their personal touches give the facility a warm and inviting feeling, with a soothing beach theme and great energy infused throughout the 2,400 square feet of space. The facility was designed with the help of fellow dog trainers, ensuring every need was met to guarantee success for clients. Located at 1267 S. Eastern Ave. just one mile off the interstate, the complex also features a veterinary hospital and dog groomer.
Brad and Sherri are already well on their way to success with the new business, with a solid foundation thanks to their close friendship and business partnership with Scott and Gale Templeton, owners of The Dog Wizard franchise locations in Frankfort, Morehead and Ashland, Kentucky. Initially connected through a real estate referral in 2000, they became fast friends who now consider each other family. After selling their Mesa, Ariz. home in 2020, Brad and Sherri pulled up their RV to Scott and Gale’s Kentucky property and stayed with them for months — helping them with facility maintenance, learning The Dog Wizard business, and eventually realizing it was their calling as well.
The Dog Wizard is a nationwide mobile dog training and facility-based franchise that offers an alternative to traditional obedience training. Focused on the individual needs of both the dog and the dog owner, the company prides itself on an open-minded approach based on the unique learning style of each dog. Pet owners are immersed in the training experience in a “train the trainer” format, as a way to strengthen the bond with their dog for long-term success.
The Dog Wizard Oklahoma City will service OKC, Norman, Edmond, Moore, Midwest City, Mustang and surrounding areas, with Sherri serving as head trainer. An Open House will be held on October 30, although Brad and Sherri are already open and accepting appointments.
