Krissy Spero

Krissy Spero has worked professionally with dogs since 2016 and has been a part of The Dog Wizard organization since 2018. As Academy Director of The Dog Wizard Academy, she oversees trainer education, curriculum development, certification programs, and professional standards for trainers across the organization. While she has extensive experience working with reactivity, leash manners, and aggression, her primary passion is early puppy development, puppy rearing, and temperament testing. Krissy is an International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP) member, AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, AKC Temperament Test Evaluator, and Expert Trainer. She is dedicated to helping both dogs and trainers succeed through structured education, practical training, and a deep understanding of canine behavior and development.

Her writing is grounded in real-world experience working with dogs, their owners, and professional trainers every day. Rather than focusing solely on clinical or theoretical perspectives, she shares practical insights that help readers understand how dogs learn, communicate, and navigate everyday life within a family environment. Having worked with a wide variety of breeds, temperaments, and behavioral challenges, Krissy provides guidance that is both evidence-informed and immediately applicable — bridging the gap between canine behavior science and the realities dog owners face at home, in public, and throughout their training journey.

Krissy holds an Advanced Dog Training Certification and is a certified AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, AKC Temperament Test Evaluator, and Expert Trainer. She also holds LIMA Course Certification and JSTD Certification, and is an active member of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP).
