Frankfort’s premiere canine boarding facility now offers The Dog Wizard’s National training curriculum all under one “Woof”

Frankfort, Kentucky The Tin Woof Inn (TWI) announced they have expanded their already highly successful dog boarding facility by becoming owners in The Dog Wizard’s franchised canine training business. The Frankfort Tin Woof Inn location is the third active location in a highly successful growth trajectory, which originally began in Phoenix, AZ in 2001, and expanded to Moorhead in 2007, Ashland in 2014, and their most recent location in Frankfort in 2019. On their 2.6 acre premises sits their 8,000 square foot building which includes a 3,600 square foot training facility which was approved by the city of Frankfort and finished with USDA approved materials with 20 individual heating and cooling zones. Pets are kept in one of six main kennel areas with over 60 indoor/outdoor kennel enclosures.

“As a large, integrated pet care facility with 3 locations and more than 22,000 sq ft under roof, we do the pet boarding business right. But we struggled building a consistent, profitable companion animal training business. Dog Wizard is doing for us what we can’t do for ourselves. Their systems work and we benefit from the years of experience they have fine tuning the program” stated Scott Templeton, owner of The Tin Woof Inn. Scott is no stranger to standing up successful businesses. As a seasoned executive for such companies as 7-Eleven, Tosco, Phillips 66, Shell UK and Mobil, Templeton parlayed that experience into the pet world in 1993 by joining Petropolis. Over the years, he has designed, built or operated nearly 20 professional pet facilities, including the Rowan County Animal Shelter and the Boyd County Animal Shelter.

At the heart of Tin Woof Inn’s training division, and central figure in the adoption and implementation of The Dog Wizard’s training protocol is Gale Templeton, Scott’s wife, and business partner. Gale has competed in conformation (U.S. and U.K.) and titled in competitive obedience, rally, herding, barn hunt, DockDogs® and agility. Gale has qualified and participated in ASCA Nationals and NADAC Championships 10 times. Over the years, Gale has put more than 100 titles on the dogs. She has been conducting training classes at Tin Woof Inn since 2007 and is now the head trainer of their Dog Wizard division.

“We’re thrilled the Tin Woof Inn chose The Dog Wizard franchise to expand and solidify their dog training operations. We know with their business and training experience they could have picked any of the national dog training franchises. This just validates our methodologies, our commitment to our franchisee’s, and our relentless pursuit to help pet owners build the best relationships with their pets as possible” beamed Gretchen Hollifield, founder and CEO of The Dog Wizard.
