I brought my almost 3 year old Australian Shepherd here due to his on going anxiety issues and need to refresh some of his previously learned skills. He did puppy kindergarten and training in another city but once we moved here, I realized I needed to help him with his severe anxiety in new situations/being in public, meeting people for the first time, and separation anxiety. He was also on medicine with no improvement/change so I was truly worried that it was too late!!

Patrick worked with my boy to build his confidence in new situations which in turn helped his separation anxiety. Obviously, the training continues with me for the rest of his life, but he came home a new boy that was ready to work and continue to grow! Watching him self regulate his own anxiety and calm down was worth every penny to me. I’m so proud of my Nash and can’t wait to see him continue to grow in support class!

Patrick was also great with keeping me in the loop by sending me progress reports and photos of their outings. I was just as anxious to leave him so it was a relief to see him having so much fun! Thank you, Dog Wizard and especially to Patrick!

Liz is an AMAZING trainer!! She knows her stuff and is passionate about working with dogs. We entrusted our sweet girl, Gabby, to Liz and the other staff for a 2 week Board and Train. Liz gave us daily updates including pictures and videos. In just that short 2 weeks, Liz had our Gabby more socialized, performing many commands (heel, sit, down, come, place etc) and incorporated an E collar so we can take her off leash eventually. Liz also explained the importance of knowing how a dog thinks, necessity of boundaries and leadership of the humans. She taught us how to create those strict boundaries so Gabby (and my husband and I) are confident in our pack at home. Liz has continued to support us even after Gabby has come home. Since being home, Gabby is much less reactive, more obedient and more relaxed in general. Even other people in our apartment complex have noticed the changes. We are looking forward to continuing our training and bonding, attending classes at Dog Wizard and we know Liz is here for us every step of the way! We are so grateful to Liz and everyone at Dog Wizard!

I cannot say enough good things about The Dog Wizard Fort Myers. I brought my 4 year old Jack Russell, Cracker, in for an evaluation because he had become reactive, aggressive, and stubborn, especially around other dogs and cats. My corrections at home were not helping and honestly seemed to make things worse. I had a real fear in the back of my mind that if anything ever happened to me, Cracker’s behavior could put him at risk of being put down, and I could not bear that thought.

They got me in for an evaluation quickly. Bri was incredible with Cracker from the start. She explained his behavior in detail and walked me through exactly what the program would involve. I left with zero unanswered questions and signed him up for the Freedom Jumpstart camp on the spot.

That is when I was connected with Patrick, Cracker’s trainer. I actually watched Patrick working with another dog while I waited for my evaluation, long before I knew he would be the one training Cracker, and I was impressed before I even had a name to put with it. Patrick is exceptional, not just with the dogs but with me as Cracker’s owner. Throughout the two weeks Cracker was in house, Patrick sent updates and photos so I could follow his progress. The very first photo showed how anxious Cracker was. Each set after that showed a dog who was calmer, more relaxed, and more himself. It was emotional watching that transformation happen in real time.

When Cracker came home, Patrick worked with me directly on commands, corrections, and how to stay consistent, which has made all the difference. I am not juggling a chaotic schedule anymore, rotating dogs and keeping doors shut to manage him. Cracker gets to be part of the family again. His siblings enjoy him, and I get to enjoy him instead of constantly correcting or isolating him.

This experience has been life changing for Cracker and for our whole household. The Dog Wizard gave me my dog back, and gave Cracker the chance at the good, fulfilled life he deserves. I recommend them without hesitation.

We have a 10 month old Great Dane/ German shepherd mix that always pulled on the leash, jumped on people, barked at everything, counter surfed, dug through our trash, and nipped at hands constantly. We tried all the at home training and YouTube videos but nothing was working and we were left wondering where we went wrong. We signed her up for the 2 week freedom jumpstart program with Dog Wizard and our girl Cypress was assigned Patrick as her trainer, who worked a miracle with her. When we got her back after 2 weeks, she was basically a whole new dog. Taking her for a walk used to give us anxiety because we knew how bad she would pull us, and we could never eat dinner without her trying to snag the food right off our plates. Now she walks right by our side, stopped nipping, and I never thought I would see the day she chills on her bed while we eat our meals. She learned so many things and gained confidence in such a short period of time, and Patrick sent us photos the entire time to keep us updated on how she was doing and where she was in the training process. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome and are excited to continue going to support classes. Thank you Patrick and Dog Wizard for making our experience so great!

I went to dog wizard for a free consultation thinking my 6 month French bulldog needed help settling down and not jumping on new people. I ended up learning sooo much more and my puppy came back after 2 weeks with all the tools for success. Although a lot of training is consistency, my dog had learned to self soothe and this was huge. Patrick was our trainer and he has such a calm presence - definitely was a good influence on my stubborn Frenchie. He was invested and ensured I knew what I was doing as well. I highly recommend this company, it’s nation wide and I’ve had a great experience with this fort Myers location.

Looking back, I think a board-and-train program would have been a better option for success. We did one hour per week of in-home training with Mike for five weeks. Unfortunately, my husband and Mike were not able to get on the same page with the leash technique used by Dog Wizard, and as a result, Rosy did not graduate from the program. We spent $1,500, which was disappointing, but I do understand why things unfolded the way they did.

That said, we did learn a lot from the in-home training, and I would recommend the board-and-train option for families looking for stronger or more consistent results. Since then, we have switched to using a harness and are seeing much better progress with our puppy.

I also want to note that the staff was wonderful with Rosy when dropping her off for daycare—she really seemed to enjoy it. Thank you for everything you did for her.

Bri and the team at Dog Wizard have been wonderful helping me make good citizens of my rambunctious rescue pups, Murphy and Chance. After a two week in-house training camp for each of them, Bri made sure I was equipped with the tools and knowledge to reinforce their lessons. Ongoing support classes/availability is a great reassurance for me and was the determining factor for me selecting them. My boys get lots of compliments from other dog parents at the dog park and fellow diners at dog-friendly restaurants. I would highly recommend Dog Wizard and am happy to be their client.

We brought our 7 month old English black lab for the jump start program. He was always a sweet dog, just no manners. Lots of jumping, pulling on the leash (which at 72 lbs almost took me out), and chewing. We have 3 kids under 5 so trying to train him ourselves was super difficult. Patrick was our trainer and he was amazing. He sent tons of pictures and videos during his stay to let us know he was progressing well and having a good time. When he came home, he was a different dog! He no longer pulls, will sit in place while we eat and cook, is no longer chewing on things and is generally just a better behaved dog. We are so grateful for this experience and we can’t wait to continue his learning in the support class! Thanks you for everything Patrick!

We brought our 4-year-old Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd, Vinnie, for the two week program. Before training, we had difficulty dealing with his reactivity to his surroundings. Since he’s already an adult, we were worried he might be difficult to train, but Briauna did an amazing job with him.

Vinnie is now doing incredibly well with all of his training, both inside and outside the house, and we’re happy to be able to walk him in places where he would have previously been reactive. We’re so grateful for all the time, effort, and care Briauna and the staff invested in Vinnie. They took such great care of him, and we couldn’t be happier with the results!

The Dog Wizard was an exceptional experience that we highly recommend. Our four-month-old Lainey spent 14 days working with Briauna (Bri) as part of the board and Jumpstart program. Bri is incredibly knowledgeable, confident, dedicated, and caring. As new and nervous parents, Bri kept us well-informed throughout Lainey’s stay, providing updates and pictures. Upon her return, we immediately noticed a positive difference in Lainey. She learned obedience commands and is now great walking on the leash. We have Bri set her up for success, and we are eagerly looking forward to continuing her training.

Thank you to Corrie, Bri, and everyone at The Dog Wizard for taking such good care of Lainey!

My rescue, Kali, has become more anxious and reactive as she’s gotten older. She just turned five, and I was worried it might be too late, but the Dog Wizard team didn’t hesitate. Patrick was her trainer during the 2 week jumpstart camp and did an amazing job! He gave Kali the confidence she needed and showed us how to keep her training going at home. He was also very patient in ensuring I knew what Kali would need from me to be the best version of herself. Corrie was also very understanding when Kali had a spine injury just a few days before her scheduled training and was so accommodating about her recovery and rescheduled us twice when needed.
We really appreciated all the pictures and updates, they made me feel a lot better when I was missing her the most.
Thank you, Corrie, Patrick, and everyone at the Dog Wizard for taking such great care of Kali!

We came to the Dog Wizard needing some help with our girl Marley. She’s had issues with reactivity towards dogs and people, pulling on the leash and trouble with distractions. We decided on doing the 2 week jumpstart camp. Briauna was her trainer and she did an amazing job! She gave Marley the confidence she needed and deserved. Bri has driven Marley in the right direction and she is so much better with things we used to really stress about. She also gave us the tools we needed so we could continue training Marley ourselves. She provided us with lots of pictures and updates, which gave us comfort and made us so proud of her progress! Thank you Corrie, Bri and everyone at the Dog Wizard for helping and taking care of Marley as well as taking a huge weight off her mom and dads shoulders!

We have had both of our dogs trained at this location. Bri was amazing with our Malinois building confidence and help overcome his insecurities which has changed him for the better. Mike did a wonderful job with instructional training with our goofy Shepherd mix. We boarded them there also. Very nice and clean facility. The staff overall is great!, friendly and supportive. The biggest plus for me is that they continue to offer support after the training is completed. Pack walks, follow up training sessions, pack outings, responsive texting answering questions, etc... Just been an incredible experience

I brought in a 2 year old rescue that had anxiety and a fear of men. Patrick was his trainer. He did a wonderful job teaching him basic commands, building confidence, socializing him and taking my dog on amazing adventures. I’ve done the two week training with two other companies, this experience was exceptional. I’ll be continuing group training, and highly recommend both the dog wizard and Patrick.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Dog Wizard Fort Myers offers a free evaluation. This enables our trainers to talk with you, in depth, learn about your dog, go over your training goals, and find a program that works for you. Give us a call and we will help you set one up.
The Dog Wizard trainers are well versed in a variety of training tools; from food to collars to remote collars. We know that not all dogs do well with every tool and we will help you decide what tool is best for your dog as well as what tools you’re comfortable with using. At the end of the day, whatever tool you’re comfortable in using will be the one you’re most consistent in using and that’s what’s most important to us.
It is never too late to start teaching your dog new habits. It will take more time and effort than teaching a new puppy but you will love the outcome.

In order to know how long it will take to train your dog, we will need to do a free consultation. During your consultation, we will get to understand what you are looking to gain from the training as well as evaluate your dog to see what we will need to do to get him where you would like him to be. At that point, we will be able to give you a timeline for his training.

We do not have a one size fits all approach to training. Each dog owner team that has a free evaluation will have a customized program designed to fit your specific needs. While the cost of training is a wide range depending on a myriad of factors and personalization to your and your dog’s needs, training programs start at $250.
