Marissa Abram

CEO and Trainer

Marissa has 10 plus years of teaching experience. She has been working with dogs for over 5 years. She is a Dog Wizard Graduate herself! In her free time she competes with her personal dogs in AKC Obedience, Trick Dog, DockDogs, and K9 Frisbee Toss & Fetch. She is an AKC CGC approved evaluator. Marissa is constantly continuing to learn and improve so she can better help our clients and their relationships with their furry family members!

Kaitlyn Keegan

Trainer

Kaitlyn Keegan has been professionally training dogs since 2019, with a passion for working with a wide range of dogs, from high-drive working breeds to small, cherished pet dogs. Over the years, she has developed a strong skill set for helping dogs that are often misunderstood or struggling with major behavioral issues. Kaitlyn focuses to address the root causes of problem behaviors and help dogs reach their full potential with their families! With seven personal dogs of her own, she has firsthand experience in managing diverse temperaments and is dedicated to making lasting, positive changes in the lives of both dogs and their owners.

We had a great experience with The Dog Wizard and working with Kristin. She worked us and our 3 year old terrier, Benny, in private sessions. Benny went from reactive and scared of everything to a more relaxed, confident, affectionate pup. Kristin helped us understand Benny and how to help build his confidence and redirect his energy. We can’t thank Kristin and the Dog Wizard enough!! We look forward to continuing Benny’s development at the monthly meet ups!

Thanks so much Kristin for being a great trainer of Misty and me. Misty was new to us at 7 months without any training. She learned so much each week and you helped me with controlling her jumping and helping her to be a good dog citizen. I appreciate your help with my confidence level. She is still quite energetic but that is to be expected with a puppy! I will enjoy going to the weekend events to continue with her learning. Thanks so much. We had an amazing experience with Kristin! She worked with our 7-month-old golden doodle, Delilah, and the transformation has been incredible. Delilah went from being a bouncy, distracted pup to a much more calm, well-mannered dog — all thanks to Kristin’s guidance, patience, and expertise.

Kaitlyn has truly helped our family with teaching us and Kora tools to help in stressful situations. As well as, how to properly socialize and learn neutrality. Kora was overly socialized, so she was super reactive to other dogs and humans, so this program has significantly helped kora! We 🤍 Kaitlyn!

The Dog Wizard Columbus offers a free evaluation. Most locations will even come to you to do one! This enables our trainers to meet you and your dog, go over your training goals and find a program that works for you. Give us a call and we will help you set one up.
The Dog Wizard trainers are well versed in a variety of training tools; from food to collars to remote collars. We know that not all dogs do well with every tool and we will help you decide what tool is best for your dog as well as what tools you’re comfortable with using. At the end of the day, whatever tool you’re comfortable in using will be the one you’re most consistent in using and that’s what’s most important to us.
It is never too late to start teaching your dog new habits. It will take more time and effort than teaching a new puppy but you will love the outcome.

In order to know how long it will take to train your dog, we will need to do a free consultation. During your consultation, we will get to understand what you are looking to gain from the training as well as evaluate your dog to see what we will need to do to get him where you would like him to be. At that point, we will be able to give you a timeline for his training.

We do not have a one size fits all approach to training. Each dog owner team that has a free evaluation will have a customized program designed to fit your specific needs. Because of this, individualized system pricing varies. Give us a call and we will help you set one up
