Renee Warner

Owner

Renee is a Louisville, Kentucky native who grew up always having a passion for dogs. After graduating from the University of Louisville, she enjoyed careers in yoga teaching and massage therapy, but above all else, loved spending time with her pup. Her dog, Brego is truly who led the way to her Dog Wizard future after going through a Jumpstart program for his leash reactivity. Brego's dramatic results not only changed her life, but instilled a passion in her to help other families like hers to improve their quality of life with their best friend! Outside of loving dogs, you?ll find Renee usually doing something outdoors, and often accompanied by a craft beer!

Here's a little bit about her boys:

Brego- a 8 year old German Shepherd who inspired Renee's Dog Wizard path! He's as handsome as they come (he definitely knows it) and is most certainly a Momma's boy. He's never far from her side, and is still learning how to work through some of his anxiety. Brego is by far the king of the house, and enjoys anything where there's a tennis ball!

Winston- a 3 year old Golden Retriever is the definition of a happy-go-lucky guy. Win loves anyone, everyone, everything, and would be perfectly happy to lick you to death. He follows Brego everywhere he goes, and is the epitome of a middle child.

Arlo- last but not least, a 7 month old Dalmatian with the most amazing personality. He's fearless, incredibly motivated by just about anything, loves to jump, and is just plain hilarious. He keeps them all on their toes, and is the perfect addition to their family.

They reached out to the Dog Wizard for help with Quentin's reactivity and through this Janay began her time working as a dog trainer. When it came time to move back to Indiana, Janay transitioned from her role as a trainer to office manager.

I am so glad I found the DogWizard! Working with them has been such a positive experience. We did the board and train. It's scary and nerve wracking dropping your dog off to strangers and hoping they treat your furbaby well. But he was instantly greeted with love. We received fun and engaging updates on a regular basis. And they really do offer lifetime support. I have been able to email follow up questions and they've come back to our house to help us trouble shoot some lingering issues. When they have come back to our house, or when we do the Saturday group classes -- my dog still runs up to them to greet them like one of the family which means he was well taken care of.

I will say -- the training is not a miracle. I've learned that there is no magic wand that fixes all of your dogs behavior. It is a commitment on our part, but they do a FANTASTIC job at giving your dog the foundation to succeed and they are committed to the soft hand off and teaching us humans the skills to be successful.

We have a five-year-old beagle mix named Owen. He is a great dog, but a not-so-good family walker - he PULLS, following his powerful nose. We were worried that dog training wouldn’t work since he’s not a puppy. Then, we met Jill. She is so knowledgeable and experience-she made us feel like there’s nothing we couldn’t solve together! She got to know Owen, our family, and our goals. Today, we walk our two babies to school with Owen. Before The Dog Wizard, we would’ve left him at home or we would’ve all been sweating and swearing ;). Owen is so much happier that he gets to join our family outings, and we are so much happier that we have a system/language in place to communicate with Owen!! Great experience - can’t recommend enough!!

I took my 4 month old puppy to the Dog Wizard for 2 weeks. When I picked him up, he was like a different dog. He learned so many great commands and he is walking on the leash so well! He is still a puppy and has his crazy moments, but most of the time he listens and follows commands. The people are great and sent updates and videos so I could see his progress. Highly recommend the Dog Wizard!!

We have taken a couple agility classes with Jill. She is always patient with us and a great instructor! We completed CPE agility and are now in standard agility. Both have been a great addition to helping me mentally and physically exercise my dog!

About The Dog Wizard Louisville

Our dog training goes beyond basic commands like Sit, Come, and Down. Our approach focuses on helping your dog make better choices and respond to you instead of their impulses.

We cover all the essential obedience commands you need to communicate effectively with your dog. But more importantly, we teach your dog to stay engaged and follow through with these commands, even in the most distracting environments.

Our goal is to enhance your dog’s understanding of obedience, making it a natural part of their behavior, not just a few tricks they perform when they feel like it.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Dog Wizard Louisville offers a free evaluation. This enables our trainers to talk with you, in depth, learn about your dog, go over your training goals, and find a program that works for you. Give us a call and we will help you set one up.
The Dog Wizard trainers are well versed in a variety of training tools; from food to collars to remote collars. We know that not all dogs do well with every tool and we will help you decide what tool is best for your dog as well as what tools you’re comfortable with using. At the end of the day, whatever tool you’re comfortable in using will be the one you’re most consistent in using and that’s what’s most important to us.
It is never too late to start teaching your dog new habits. It will take more time and effort than teaching a new puppy but you will love the outcome.

In order to know how long it will take to train your dog, we will need to do a free consultation. During your consultation, we will get to understand what you are looking to gain from the training as well as evaluate your dog to see what we will need to do to get him where you would like him to be. At that point, we will be able to give you a timeline for his training.

We do not have a one size fits all approach to training. Each dog owner team that has a free evaluation will have a customized program designed to fit your specific needs. While the cost of training is a wide range depending on a myriad of factors and personalization to your and your dog’s needs, training programs start at $250.
