Throughout her extraordinary journey, Tracie has accumulated 30 years of self taught training experience as she has worked with a diverse range of animals, from chinchillas and ferrets to dogs, parrots, and even a monkey! Born in Chicago and raised in a small suburban town, Tracie developed an unwavering love for animals from an early age. Fascinated by their behavior and eager to understand their needs, she embarked on a quest to explore the world of animal training. Tracie sought to push boundaries and explore the possibilities of training other unique animals. Through innovative methods and a deep understanding of their needs, she achieved remarkable success, captivating the attention of animal enthusiasts and professionals alike.
After honing her skills working with smaller animals, Tracie directed her attention towards dogs, realizing her deep connection with these loyal and intelligent companions. One of the most intriguing chapters in Tracie’s career began when she was presented with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity – training a monkey. She embraced the challenge wholeheartedly. The monkey, known for its intelligence and mischievous nature, posed a unique set of challenges. The goal wasn’t to eradicate the primate’s natural instincts or disposition, but to establish a way for them to communicate and utilize this communication to teach him manners and basic obedience so that he was able to make good choices and co-habitate harmoniously with his family. With patience, adaptability, and an unbreakable bond forged through trust, Tracie successfully trained the monkey, earning accolades for her exceptional work.

It’s one thing for your dog to learn new skills. It’s another for your dog to retain those skills for years. At The Dog Wizard, we offer lifetime support as part of our training programs. After your dog graduates, you can continue to bring it in for weekly group classes. These sessions offer a chance to reinforce skills, make new friends and strengthen the unique bond between the pet and pet parent.
Private Dog Training Lessons
Does your dog need one-on-one training support? The Dog Wizard has you covered with our personalized, private dog training sessions. First, our professional trainers will get to know your pet’s unique habits. Then, they’ll design a training plan that meets their precise needs. These lessons may take place at your home or our facility — wherever you and your dog feel most comfortable.
Group Dog Training Classes
Are you interested in group training for your dog? We offer group dog training classes that cover everything your dog needs to know, from obedience commands to housebreaking. In addition to learning new skills, it’ll have a chance to socialize with fellow canines. Our programs include puppy classes for dogs up to 5 months of age, as well as foundation classes for small groups of five to seven.
Board and Train Dog Training
Do you want to enroll your dog in training classes but don’t have time to attend? We’ve got you covered. At The Dog Wizard, we offer board and train programs at various program lengths of stay: 7 days, 14 days or 21 days. During the program, your pet will stay with us full-time and learn directly from our dedicated, professional trainers.
Puppy Training Programs
There’s no doubt puppies are full of energy. While this playfulness provides plenty of entertainment, it can also lead to behavioral problems. From chewing furniture to play biting, there are all sorts of mischief for young puppies to get into. That’s why we offer comprehensive puppy training. These lessons teach puppies essential skills (such as obedience commands, leash walking and socialization), helping ensure they grow into well-behaved adults.
For the best dog training in the Las Vegas area, The Dog Wizard is the only option. From obedience training to leash control, our trainers have the skills and experience necessary to help your dog reach their full potential.
Our training is not just about teaching behaviors (Sit, Come, Down). Instead, we believe in teaching your dog how to make better choices and how to listen to us instead of their impulses.
Of course we teach your dogs all of the basic obedience and commands you will need to communicate with them, but we also teach them how to be engaged and to follow through with these commands even in the most distracting of environments. What good is the “Come” command if it does not work when you need your dog to come because he is running after a squirrel into the path of a car!?
We believe in refining your dog’s comprehension of obedience so that it becomes a way of life for them, not just a few tricks they can show off when they are in the mood.
That’s why we not only teach your dog the skills it needs to be well-behaved, but we will give you, your spouse, your kids, and anyone else in your family all the tools necessary to maintain a long, healthy, and happy relationship with your new and improved family member.
Absolutely not! You’ll see that you get to enjoy your dog’s true personality more when you can do things together as a team. Through this strengthened relationship, you’ll find you’ll be able to do more together, regulate certain behaviors, and enjoy more quality time together.
No dog is too old for training, however beginning training at a young age sets the stage for a well-behaved dog for years to come. Regardless of age, all dogs benefit by having structure, boundaries, and cognitive exercises that help keep them happy, healthy, and younger than their years. Unless your dog has a medical condition, or adversely affected to basic exercise we can find a program to meet their needs.
We like to do a full assessment of your dog and ensure we have a true understanding of your goals, both for the dog, and for yourself. We are not a one-size-fits-all solution, and would rather tailor a program that meets your specific needs and desires.
We are balanced dog trainers. We like to pair our training style to the unique needs of the dog in front of us. We have many tools in our belts and not every dog requires the same protocols. We’ll provide a solution that best fits the ultimate goals you have in mind for both you and your dog.
That depends on the dog and the situation. We use pressure and release techniques utilizing transitional slip leads, pinch collars, and remote-collars. These tools, when used properly are very effective to achieve training goals with the least amount of stress on the dog.
That depends on your lifestyle and your goals for your pup. You’ll get fantastic results either way with us, but the in home sessions will require more of a time commitment from you than the board and train. During the free evaluation, a trainer will help you determine the best program for you and your pup.
