The proof is in the pudding when it comes to dog training. Anyone can claim anything, but achieving it is a different story. We strive to not just teach the dog obedience commands or behavioral modification, but to make sure these obedience commands and behavioral modification work for the owner (when the trainer is not there). And most importantly they work around distractions, aka “when you need them to work the most”. Because of this, we have thousands of testimonials to hang our dog wizard hat on.
Excellent experience with training our choc lab. Our dog was 6 months old when he went through the 4 week away from home session with the trainers. The trainers worked with our family (and kids!) for us to learn how to effectively communicate with our dog. So, essentially we were trained, too! That was so important because the training process made us (dog & humans) understand each other more. Now, our dog is nearly 2 years old and is so well behaved. He is calm, well behaved around strangers, walks on/off leash extremely well, comes when called, and so much more. This is money well spent!!
Would HIGHLY recommend Jess and the Fort Collins Dog Wizard Team. We originally started our training journey with group classes through another company, but found that we needed more individual attention and tips specific to our dog’s needs. We started private lessons with Jess and after the first lesson, it felt like we had already made more progress than we had in 6 weeks of group training classes. Jess really spends the time to get to know you and your dog’s personality and works with you both to learn how to best communicate with each other. Our dog is so well behaved after going through training and is an absolute joy to be around. We love our dog so much and are happy that we do not even hesitate to bring her along on all of our adventures now (our dog is pretty happy she gets to join us too)! In addition, our sweet dog loves Jess and is always excited to see her. Jess and her team really care about the dogs they work with, and it shows!
Absolutely amazing what these two can do. They give you and your pup the tools you need to succeed! Ruger is a husky mix rescue pup and he had a lot of separation anxiety that we had no idea how to deal with. He would howl and bay for hours when he was alone and he would get so scared in a crate the he would pee and chew the bars until he bled. He was constantly breaking out, and if we left him roaming the house he would chew on walls and doors, destroy carpet and get into anything he could. Now, he is a much more confident dog and we take steps in a better direction every day. He’s quiet in the crate, is an amazing listener, and we are slowly working up to allowing him free roam in the house when we leave. I love seeing how happy he is when he does the things they have taught him and we are learning together. A much happier dog.
Couldn’t have done it without them.
Cullen helped us get our overly-friendly dog to gain some manners and be polite enough to not be a hazard to unsuspecting (over even suspecting! lol) guests. I worry much less now about my excited pupper accidentally hurting someone with her vigor. We can go on walks that are enjoyable for everyone and she doesn’t pull or jerk me (or the stroller) into the road.
What a welcome change to our quality of life!! Thank you Fort Collins Dog Wizard!
