Dog Training in Raleigh, NC

Welcome to The Dog Wizard

Let’s Get Started

It’s not magic.

It’s dog training done right.

With all the different training philosophies out there, The Dog Wizard Raleigh believes there is one thing everyone can agree on. No one gets a dog anticipating problems or issues. Everyone dreams of a dog to take relaxing walks with, cuddle on rainy days, play fetch with, introduce to their friends with no jumping. And most importantly, that unconditional love that only a dog can provide.

Dogs are actually complex thinkers and processors, so with a high number of dog related issues in the world, a lot of opinions have formed.Treats or no treats, collars or harnesses, toys or no toys, corrections or no corrections, electronic collars, or no way? Truth is, almost every training style, method and philosophy out there has pros and cons. At The Dog Wizard Raleigh our philosophy is simple. It takes a balanced technique to create a balanced dog. As in any relationship, good communication is essential. We believe your relationship with your dog is hinged on you and your dog’s ability to understand each other.

Most trainers concentrate solely on the dog understanding you, but The Dog Wizard Raleigh puts just as much value (if not more) on you understanding your dog and what they are trying to tell you.

By establishing an effective two-way line of communication between you and your dog, you are actually able to have communication back and forth instead of just command after command. The goal of our training at The Dog Wizard Raleigh is to create happy and confident dogs who know what you need from them, what they need from you, and are equally happy to be part of a working and balanced relationship with you.

We also strongly believe dogs have innate needs that must be met for them to feel balanced. What this means is that dogs like to socialize, think, problem solve, and use their instincts, and if not allowed to do this and forced to be a “human” it makes them act in ways that are not natural or balanced.

I can’t thank Greg enough for working with my dog Spud for 2 weeks. He left home with obedience troubles, and was a bit embarrassed when it came to walking him in public on a leash. The day he returned from his training, he has been a completely different dog on and off leash, and now obeys commands better than ever. Greg has been extremely thorough when it comes to staying in touch with Spud’s practice at home, as well as helpful tips and adjustments that I can try to further improve his behavior around friends and family. It all starts at home with being his owner, staying on top of his daily routines and forever improving the quality of life between me and my fur baby. There’s so much more to be said, but to Greg and the support staff of Raleigh Dog Wizard, I thank you so very much.

My 4 year old doodle completed the 14 day board and train program to address gentle greetings, loose leash walking, and coming when called. I was SO nervous to send my dog off with someone I didn’t know for 14 days but Greg made me feel so comfortable. I know Bennett was well taken care of and loved receiving pictures while he was away. Bennett came back with amazing leash manners! Greg spent time with me to go over all of the new things that Bennett learned so I could follow through with it. The next day I had a new couch delivered and Bennett listened to stay on “place” (his bed) the entire delivery time! I was so impressed! Thanks to Greg for helping give both Bennett and I a tune up on training!!! Highly recommend the Raleigh Dog Wizard!

His work with our lab/pit mix really changed our lives. Our doggo is happier and looks and listens for queues taught by Greg. With that foundation and continued reinforcement from us, everything from leash behavior and basic commands have really given us a quality of life improvement. I have already recommended Greg and The Dog Wizard to my friends. Give him a call! Thanks Greg!!
