The proof is in the pudding when it comes to dog training. Anyone can claim anything, but achieving it is a different story. We strive to not just teach the dog obedience commands or behavioral modification, but to make sure these obedience commands and behavioral modification work for the owner (when the trainer is not there). And most importantly they work around distractions, aka “when you need them to work the most”. Because of this, we have thousands of testimonials to hang our dog wizard hat on.
Our pup Tucker has severe separation anxiety, he was a rescue and we did not know what kind of life he had before us! Tucker would have lots of accidents in the house, he would scratch at every door in the house until it was down to the wood! I was recommended to The dog wizard by a coworker, she said you will be amazed Katie is amazing!! We decided to use The Dog Wizard and Tuck has had great success! We have learned to help Tucker feel safe, exercise his brain and learn tools to have a happy dog! Katie really cared for Tucker and wanted to make sure he was in a better place! I would 100% continue to use Katie and I would recommend everyone to her!!
My Labrador retriever, Reagan, participated in the ‘aggression rehab’ program to increase his confidence and help him become more socialized. Katie truly is a miracle worker, because after 3 weeks Reagan’s listening skills were so much better, his leash training was amazing, and he came back more socialized. Reagan is not perfect, but with Katie’s help he has grown a lot in confidence and now I have the tools to keep him progressing in this positive way! I will forever recommend the Jacksonville Dog Wizard!
Katie truly is AMAZING. We have a German Shorthaired Pointer who has a TON of energy. We scheduled a meeting with Katie and she met with our dog & was truly knowledgeable and passionate about her work. We decided to do the “off leash” program. Hunter (our dog) stayed with Katie for 2 weeks. All the while Katie texted photos and called with updates on how he was doing. That really reassured us while he was gone that he was in good hands. Before training Hunter was a wild man. He would run away, not listen, pull hard on a leash and jump on people. It got to the point where when he got bigger, we could barely take him on walks to let him around guests/children/elderly family members. … well that all changed when he came back from the off leash program. Katie truly is the DOG WIZARD. Hunter now listens better, knows several commands and is just overall better to be around. We now feel comfortable going on walks (on and off leash) and can let him around guests without worrying that he will jump on them. This program was the best thing we could have done for Hunter and it was SO worth it. Ever since training Katie keeps in touch and does “pack walks” on Saturday to help with socialization of graduate pups from her program! The other cool thing with the “off leash” program is that she offers free refresher courses. If you are in the Jacksonville/Swansboro/Morehead area looking for an AMAZING trainer, don’t hesitate to reach out to Katie. She truly treats you and your pup like family! You will be glad you did :)
Katie is awesome! We went with the Off Leash Freedom Program and I have 0 regrets. Going into training my GSD Mya was a jumper, barker and pulled like crazy. Just after the first couple of sessions I could tell such a major difference in her overall. Katie really helps you understand what you’re doing throughout training and most importantly why you are doing it. She not only gave Mya the confidence she needed for training but she gave me the confidence to feel comfortable going home and practicing everything we learned. Mya completed her training and I can say we have easy stress free trips to town and to parks or wherever we may be going. Between the barking pulling and jumping it’s pretty much non-existent anymore making our outings all about having fun and getting rid of some energy. Mya and I can’t thank her enough!
We had an awesome experience with Katie training our two Labradoodle’s, Ellie Mae & Coco. Katie was very attentive to their separate issues and what we wanted her to work on with each of them. It was hard for me to let them go for two whole weeks but Katie’s constant videos and pictures she posted of their progress helped me a lot to know that they were having fun and being taken care of. She also called to update me 2-3 times a week. Coco worked on her social anxiety around other dogs and humans while Ellie Mae worked on her listening skills and being able to be off leash without running off. I can now say that we can walk both of them without a leash, and if they do have a leash on, they are not constantly pulling. Prior to this it was next to impossible for me to walk Ellie Mae because of how bad she pulled me and how strong she is. I am a much happier dog-mom as a result of this training and I am glad that I can enjoy taking her places out in public with me without it being such a constant stressful situation. I highly recommend the Jacksonville Dog Wizard to anyone looking for an awesome trainer who will treat and care for your dog just as much as you do! Thanks for all you did Katie!!!
Katie has come into our lives and changed it in such positive ways in regards to our dog, Bean! Before meeting Katie, Bean was very impulsive and didn’t have good social skills. This made everything from taking him out potty to going to the park a difficult task. She completely transformed Bean and has given us back the trust in our dog! We take him out all the time and even let him run off leash at the park; and we know he’ll come back! We also believe the best part about Katie and the business she’s running is she doesn’t disappear once your training dates are over. She’s been super helpful and hosted pack walks and socials to help our dog and many others continue using and bettering their skills. She’s also very quick to respond to any questions I have that arise about Bean’s training. She started out as just a trainer, but we now think of her as a friend!
Simply put: Katie is a miracle worker!
We asked Katie to come help us with training our English Bulldog, Zoey, after we had some issues between her and our young kiddos.
Zoey went off for the 2 week program and came back a different dog. We were able to have her in the same room as the kids and we had a lot more confidence that she would do what she was being directed to do! We even got to the point where she does as told without the e-collar on. If you know English bulldogs and how stubborn they can be, you can appreciate what a huge feat this is.
Katie set the expectations, for both us and Zoey, was patient, and listened to what we needed. We were at a breaking point deciding what to do with our dog, and because of Katie, we were able to keep the entire family together. We can’t thank her enough for what she has done for our family!
