Franchise Owner & Trainer
My name is Joris Kerckhof and I am originally from Belgium.
Before I came to the USA I was a member of the Belgian Federal Police where I worked as a K9 handler with multiple dogs in detection and patrol work. Above that I have been a trainer for multiple agencies around the world to help them set up their canine program. Dogs have been a part of my whole life.
In 2016, I came to the USA to fulfill my American dream, I worked for multiple companies involved in government K9 contracts and meanwhile I started to train pet dogs also. I specialized in the dog psychology because I wanted to help people and their dogs. The dog is mostly the easiest to train, the challenge is to make the people understand what is going on.
There is a reason why people want their dog to be trained. Perhaps they don’t have the time and knowledge to do it by themselves or they tried and made it worse. There is nothing wrong with that, everybody makes mistakes and no one is perfect.
For me, in dog training it is important to understand the dog, to read the dog and to find a way to have a better communication. Wouldn’t it be nice if dogs would speak the same language as we do. Unfortunately that is not the case and that is where I come into the picture.
A dog is not like a smartphone that you can update, there is a way deeper sense, it’s all about finding the balance between good and wrong. With my system I condition the dogs into what they need to do, I will reinforce what is good not what is wrong.
Most people who have the time and the knowledge don’t need a trainer, but from time to time we all need to look in the mirror and realize that we have our limitations.
I will take my time to communicate with your dog and to find that balance so that you as a client find the happiness with your lovely pet.
We want happy dogs, we want dogs that do things with heart and soul and in return give you back that smile on your face.
